This policy explains what Gift Loft collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers giftloft.com and any order placed through it.
What we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, phone number if you provide one, the contents of gift messages you ask us to write, and any dietary or accessibility notes you share so we can pack the right box.
Recipient information. When you send a gift, you give us the recipient name and address. Where you ask us to collect addresses on your behalf, recipients give that information to us directly through a form, along with any dietary restrictions they choose to share.
Payment information. Card details are entered on and processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Usage information. Standard web analytics, including pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type.
Why we use it
To take payment, assemble and ship your order, write your cards, keep you updated on delivery, respond to your questions, meet tax and accounting obligations, and improve the site. If you opt in, to send you occasional email about seasonal programs. Nothing else.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell or rent recipient lists. We do not use recipient addresses collected for your gift send to market to those recipients on our own behalf.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to fulfil your order: our payment processor, shipping carriers, and the software we use to run the store and send transactional email. Each receives only what it needs. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, to keep you signed in, and for analytics. You can block cookies in your browser, though the cart will stop working if you block the essential ones.
How long we keep it
Order records are retained for as long as tax and accounting rules require, currently seven years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Recipient addresses collected for a specific send are retained for 12 months so we can handle re-sends and returns, then deleted.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email hello@giftloft.com and we will respond within 30 days. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
