For the workplace celebration
Birthday Gifts
A real birthday acknowledgment — not a generic gift card. Curated baskets for clients, employees, and the people who keep the work moving.
Run an annual birthday program?
Sending 25 or more? We handle the curation, addresses, cards, and logistics — you handle the people.
Employee birthday gifts, done without the awkwardness
Birthdays divide opinion internally and are almost universally liked by recipients. The objection is never the gift; it is the administration, the risk of missing someone, and the worry that it feels performative.
All three are solvable, and the rules are simple.
Three rules that make it work
Everyone, or nobody
A missed birthday is worse than a policy of no birthdays. If you cannot commit to covering every person on the list every year, do work anniversaries instead — they are easier to track and arguably mean more.
Home, not the office
Hybrid schedules and distributed teams mean office delivery misses a real share of your headcount, and a birthday box sitting on an empty desk is a small failure everyone notices. We collect home addresses directly from recipients so nobody internally has to ask.
Modest and consistent
$55 to $85 is the right band. High enough to be a real gift, low enough to sustain across every employee every year, and consistent enough that nobody compares. The Pick-Me-Up at $55 and The Afternoon Pause at $75 are the two most used for this.
What to send
Consumable, unbranded and not personalised. Birthdays are the wrong moment for a logo — it turns a personal occasion into a company message. We brand the card and nothing else.
Avoid anything sized, anything scented strongly, and anything that assumes how they celebrate. Coffee, chocolate, tea and good pantry items are received well by nearly everyone. The Sweet Loft and The Coffee Crate both work.
The dietary problem
Above about thirty people you will have recipients who are coeliac, vegan, sober, pregnant or observant, and a birthday box someone cannot open is the version of this that gets remembered badly. The GF/V Loft is gluten-free and vegan at the same price as our standard build, and when we collect addresses we ask about restrictions in the same form and swap automatically.
Running it without a spreadsheet
Give us the list once with birth dates, and we ship against each date through the year rather than quoting each send. You get one invoice a quarter and no recurring admin. Volume pricing applies across the annual total rather than per send, which usually makes a birthday program cheaper per box than people expect.
If you would rather keep control, we can set up a single ordering link with your approved build and budget so a manager triggers a send in about thirty seconds.
Common questions
What about people who do not want their birthday known?
Make the list opt-out and say so when you launch it. A small number will opt out, and the program is better for it.
Can we do birthdays and work anniversaries together?
Yes, and most companies that do one end up doing both. One brief, one list, one invoice. See employee appreciation gifts.
What about clients birthdays?
Generally skip them. Client birthdays read as surveillance more often than as thoughtfulness. Send at renewal or after a close instead — see client gifts.
Send a brief with your headcount and budget and a quote comes back within four business hours.
